So, I have mentioned previously I was moving from O’ahu, Hawaii to Tampa, Florida. Well the time has come, the move has taken place and I am embracing the new state with open arms! Since hitting the mainland we have seen so many friends and family and it has been totally wonderful! Moving our whole family as well as a business comes with a fare amount of challenges. But I am looking forward to Florida wedding photography as well as Florida living!
I mean, don’t get me wrong, the move itself sucked! We had to leave a place we loved, friends we loved, and definitely food and culture we loved, and we got to transition into single hotel rooms with 5 people and a dog. Live in empty houses, eat more fast food than any one person should ever be subjected too! And even as I write this we have still not received our belongings, almost 2 months after we packed out our house. I sit on a $7 air mattress and think, wow I can’t wait to have furniture again someday.
Seriously though, within the first week of being in Florida I got to see one of my best friends from my first duty station, Okinawa Japan, and her gorgeous family. Then I got to travel down to Delray and spend Father’s Day with my dad! I can’t remember the last time that happened! I got to see my cousins in Fort Lauderdale and we finally got to introduce our doggies Romeo & Juliet! It has been an amazing, stressful, crazy journey filled with lots of ups and downs!
Starting the Florida Wedding Photography Biz:
I can truly say though, that I am so happy to be here and start working in such a beautiful state!
I jumped right into shooting here because it is one of those things that brings me joy and oddly enough relieves stress. So I participated in a beautiful styled shoot that was coordinated by the charming event planners @ Taylor’d Southern Events. We had such a lovely day to shoot in the super fun little beach town of Stuart, Florida at the Flagler Place wedding venue. What a fun time working with other photographers and getting to explore the new area! It has been such a great experience so far! We got to work with such talented individuals in the wedding industry. Check out all the beautiful details!
A huge thank you to all the vendors that came together to make this day happen and help to improve the Florida wedding photography scene!
